Welcome. This website is my invitation to you to enter a safe and compassionate space in which you can begin the journey of self-discovery—at your own pace.
I believe that people are not their diagnoses, addictions, charges, or behaviors. We are each 'islands of excellence’, and sometimes, we have forgotten who we are. This forgetting is good and hopeful news. If we’ve forgotten, we can also remember!
Making use of leading-edge, evidence-based practices, we will work together so that you can (re)connect with who you truly are.
I would like to offer you a complimentary connection & consultation call. Simply click on the button below, and I look forward to accompanying you as you begin your journey home.

About Me
Hello there! I am Chris Warner, an Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapist, offering adult individual, couples, and group therapy, with a specialty in trauma and addiction recovery. I also specialize in supporting other therapists, psychologists, and counselors in their own ongoing inner work.
I welcome and honor all people, of all orientations, practices, and faith traditions.
My training and experience encompasses a wide range of up-to-date psychotherapeutic modalities including Compassionate Inquiry® (CI), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Psychotherapy, Applied Polyvagal Theory, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Somatic EMDR & Flash Technique and Motivational Interviewing.
In addition to my private practice, I offer trainings and talks, targeted to supporting the core missions of organizations and corporations, as well as workshops and therapeutic process groups, and staff trainings for inpatient addiction treatment centers and corrections facilities.
I am also a longtime meditation, dharma, breathwork, and yoga teacher. Some therapy clients find that these mindfulness-based and somatic practices support their trauma recovery work and the journey of integration, affording them an ever-greater sense of truly thriving in their lives.
My public workshops and special events are offered online and can be found on my Events page by clicking here:
Services
Trauma Therapy
Trauma is not what happened to us. Trauma is what’s left inside as a result of what happened to us that should not have happened, or, as a result of what didn’t happen and that should have.
Every session is client-led, and, may make use of a wide and deep array of evidence-based psychotherapeutic tools, including somatic practices to tap into healing from the 'bottom-up' and from the inside-out.
Compassionate Inquiry©
Often, the primary source of suffering is our disconnection from the deepest parts of ourselves, often caused by childhood and intergenerational trauma. With the right attention, this connection can be restored.
Through the skilled and compassionate use of questions, I gently hold a mirror to my client's own experiences and somatic exploration, allowing them to see themselves clearly, perhaps for the first time. I support each client in accessing and strengthening their own capacity to repair the ruptures in their relationships with themselves, and with the world.
Nonviolent Communication
NVC is a four-step process, developed by Marshall Rosenberg, grounded in the foundational elements of honesty and compassion. Individuals, couples, groups, and organizations develop the capacity to communicate directly and heart-fully, so that all parties are more likely to get their needs met.
We work together to build the basic skills necessary to immediately begin to make use of this process.
Addiction Recovery
One conceptualization of addiction is: any behavior or process in which one engages as a means of suppressing pain or escaping one's present moment experience, and, in which one engages repetitively, non-volitionally, and non-intentionally
despite increasingly painful and/or destructive life consequences.
I welcome people on all paths,
engaged in all methods of addiction recovery, including 12 step programs.
I work with clients to incorporate their chosen path of recovery into a holistic program that addresses mind-body-spirit integration, with compassionate attention to what underlies the need to escape, avoid, diminish, or suppress.
Somatics Treatment Therapy (STT)
Based upon the work of Thomas Hanna, and Hanna Somatics, STT (Somatics Treatment Therapy) is a 7-session clinical protocol addressing the myth that bodies 'inevitably' stiffen and tend toward pain.
STT is for those with chronic pain, bad backs, stiff necks, breathing issues, postural issues, fatigue, and even high blood pressure. STT frees the constrictive effects of involuntary, unconscious sensory-motor amnesia, and affords the body its own capacity to function optimally--allowing clients to again experience freedom of movement, and the 'pleasures of a limber, healthy body.'
Yoga, Meditation, Breathwork, Dharma
I have been practicing yoga, mindfulness meditation, breathwork, and Buddhism for nearly 30 years, and teaching for 25. I offer daily morning yoga practice (Sadhana), as well as individual instruction, and specialty workshops and events. Most events are online and accessible worldwide. I also offer occasional in-person events.
I am also blessed to lead Sunday Sangha, a donation-based practice and study group for those interested in mindfulness and the Buddha's teachings, and as a support for recovery from addiction and trauma. Sunday Sangha welcomes all, including those new to meditation and the dharma, as well as seasoned practitioners.
Testimonials
"The great news is that we can heal the rupture of disconnection and come home to nourishing heart-full authenticity and wholeness."
